Lawn Care Mistakes On Soil

Lawn maintenance is one of the most vital tasks when owning a lawn. In doing this, you can either go for DIY care or get the help of professional lawn care service providers. Lawn owners need to consider a lot of factors that can affect their lawn’s health; ensuring that they give sufficient vitamins and minerals it need.

One of the most common issues that can affect a lawn’s condition is the weather. Weather is something that is unpredictable and in most cases it is something that is considered unstable. Not having the proper protection can ruin your lawn but even if you have secured your turf, long-term exposure in unstable weather conditions can still harm your lawns.

Another issue that lawn owners need to deal with is the soil. Most lawn owners focus on how they can make their turf greener and healthier and oftentimes the soil quality is neglected.

Here are the most common mistakes lawn owners do on their soil

Inadequate preparation of soil

Soil preparation is very crucial. Before planting, you need to be sure that your soil is ready. There are times that lawn owners just simply plant turf and this is wrong. You need to first prepare the soil by getting rid of debris from dirt, dead leaves, branches, etc. The next step would be plowing the soil. Plowing is done to be able to break huge soil and make it better for planting. Lastly, you need to rake the soil. Raking flattens the soil which helps you plant easily and more efficiently.

Using too much fertilizer

Fertilizers help lawns to become healthier and greener. But as the saying goes, “too much of something is just as tough”; using too much fertilizer can ruin your soil. Fertilizers contain essential vitamins and minerals for plants, but using too much of it can increase the PH level of the soil and makes it unhealthy to plant on.

Overwatering

Just like using too much fertilizers, overwatering can ruin your lawn and the soil. Watering helps in refreshing the soil and also helps the lawns to grow properly. Overwatering can drown your lawn and make it die. Too much water can wash away the soil’s minerals and vitamins that helps it grow properly. Another down side of having too much water on your lawn is attracting mosquitoes and other unwanted pests on your lawn.

"Lawn Masters has been taking care of our lawn for many years. They are dependable and very professional. I purchased a couple of cuttings for a Fathers Day gift. After that first visit, my husband was hooked. He sold our mower and never looked back. Thank you, Lawn Masters, for giving us back some of our precious weekend time."

"We switched to Lawn Masters this past Spring after suffering through the lawn service our previous house owners had used. We started with a complete remodeling of our front landscape and then weekly service and lawn maintenance. Totally love the restructuring of the front landscaping, and our once sad looking lawn is now lush and full and most importantly, weed free! Communication is prompt and service is courteous. Very pleased with Lawn Masters and always recommend them."

I've used Lawn Masters for years. They have great crews that get the job done quickly. They are also wonderful for keeping my driveway plowed in the winter. The price is reasonable and the Management is very responsive. They have even done some beautiful landscape work for me. Our subdivision uses them to take care of our entrances and we are all very happy with their service.

"We've used Lawn Masters for several years now and couldn't be more pleased - our yard went from lots of weeds to no weeds at all. They are courteous and do a great job. It is so nice to have someone who knows what they are doing and not have to spend the time or effort figuring it out myself. Would highly recommend."
